URR is launching its "Stop the Pruteanu law" public campaign

Because we consider the Pruteanu law as an unnatural initiative full of anachronism, we, the Union for the Reconstruction of Romania - URR are starting today the campaign on the national level for stopping it to be promulgated.

The motto of our campaign is:

"100 words for 200 empty heads (PSD and PRM parliamentarians who voted for the Pruteanu law)"

Starting with October the 16 th, you can send us either to our site www.urr.ro , the address prutenisme@urr.ro or to the URR headquarters (27 th Lascar Catargiu Boulevard no. 3, app. 3, Sector 1, Bucharest) texts of maximum 100 words, texts which should contain words of other languages, frequently used and which should not be artificially translated into Romanian.

The best texts written in the Pruteanu language will be given awards and will be sent by us to the Parliament and to the President.

Nevertheless, if the law is still to be promulgated, we are warning Mr. Pruteanu to start preparing its cheque book, because the first one ever to be fined will be none other than the president Ion Iliescu, who can only be found by the citizens of Romania only at the internet address www.presidency.ro.

Although we would have never dreamed it, it seems we have a common interest with the president Ion Iliescu in the fight against the Pruteanu law swallowing the Romanian language.

We are hoping that the success of this campaign should make not only us victorious, but also the Romanian president, not to mention the Romanians who wish to express themselves freely.
