Date: 02.07.2003 PRESS RELEASEThe President Iliescu is turning back to the Swedish modelThe Union for Romanian Reconstruction is merely suggesting president Iliescu to turn his attention from those of the private sector who are earning an honest paycheck to the 80 % tax of the fortunes gathered during the last 13 years of corruption and theft of the public patrimony by the PSD greatest. And the first ever to whom it should be enforced are none others than the members of the Nastase government, whose meetings are lately being patronized by the very prime minister, Adrian Nastase.
The president Iliescu is claiming that these cottas of the latest taxes are quite normal and that they are the very foundation of the Swedish model he admires so. In fact, by applying them, they would not do anything else but to diminish the entrepreneur's motivation of producing something, canceling thereafter the possibility of stabilizing the Swedish pattern or no matter what pattern for the market economy.
These ideological outbursts which we kind of used us the president with are totally irresponsible within the context of European adherence, which is demanding for a functional market economy.
The Union for the Romanian Reconstruction - URR is rejecting the president
Iliescu proposal of turning back in time and ending up all as poor and
as despise as we all were, except for those who were governing the country.
