Date: 02.20.2003 PRESS RELEASEAnother way of dealing with the corruptionThe Union for the Reconstruction of Romania - URR is demanding to the state-owned institutions to begin a real inquiry on the corruption within PSD. This is the only true solution to the problem because PSD has no interest at all in denouncing the "financial engineers" which are financing it. The cheap masquerade of the internal investigation of PSD it's nothing else but propaganda and it is only stressing the very serious problem of enslaving or the Police and the Prosecution being marginalized by the political power.
Only the independent functioning of those institutions can give back to the Romanians their state, confiscated at the present by the nowadays government members.
No clear headed Romanian citizen can understand the absurd conclusion of the investigation led by Adrian Nastase, our very own Prime minister who thinks that by pointing to an escape goat like the Vice-president of the PSD Arad branch will get rid of the corruption issue. On top of it all, while the Prime minister is bragging about putting the politicians out of business, the Constanta PSD organization is purchasing with big money a hotel, though the parties have no right in developing commercial activities.
The measure that forbids the dignitaries to sit on an AGA committee or on a CA committee is not sufficient. The Union for the Reconstruction of Romania - URR is claiming that they should
not have the right to be significant share holders of the state or private
owned companies that are developing business relations with the state
in the first place. The evidence of those should be kept in a unique national
register, so that all conflicts of interest that may rise when dignitaries
who are at power or not and are making profitable business with the state,
eliminating thus the very criteria of concurrency, a criteria specific
to the market economy.
