The Supreme Court of Justice Must Remain Apolitical

The Union for the Reconstruction of Romania - URR is joining the protest of the President of the Supreme Court of Justice against the refusal of the Minister of Justice of re-investing the Supreme Court of Justice's magistrates, the ones nominated before the 2000 elections. Unfortunately, though the law is protecting the untouchability of these magistrates, breaking the law has become a custom not only for the Nastase government, but in general for their Minister of Justice, also.

The Supreme Court of Justice is an institution that has to remain apolitical in order to ensure a correct act of justice. The PSD attempt of eliminating the judges proposed by other parties will politicize the Supreme Court of Justice and will represent a permanent blackmail instrument for the functioning judges who will be forced to take parts in given solutions in order not to miss their position.

The Union for the Reconstruction of Romania - URR is supporting the president of the Supreme Court of Justice proposal that of the untouchability of the Supreme Court of Justice's magistrates should be foreseen in the Constitution so that the defiance of the democratically European norms of the field should not be anymore at the disposal of any government whose only intention is to enslave Justice after his own will.
