Against University Clans

The Union for the Reconstruction of Romania - URR is joining those that are fighting for the introduction of some anti-nepotism regulations within the academically environment (www.nepotism.org). We think that nepotism is seriously affecting the quality of education and the students' rights as much as of those of the state-owned universities, as those of the private ones.

Recent cases in which dignitaries - members of universities awarded by themselves huge research founds are proving that regulation of the conflict of interests between the university status and any other public dignity by the use of legislation is absolutely necessary.

Likewise, we are sustaining all students and civil societies' demarches in favor of internal university codes which would eliminate the possibility of developing clans within universities.
