Date: 08.05.2003 PRESS RELEASECommon Sense Is Not a Doctrine NecessaryThe Union for the Reconstruction of Romania - URR is publicly announcing its intention of pursuing into justice the Humanist Party of Romania under the accusation of intellectual theft.
In the "Curentul" journal of July 14th 2003 PUR (The Humanist Party of Romania) is presenting as its own message a text copied from the URR message. Here is the mentioned text, written in italics, along with the context in which it appears:
Our vision, of the humanist youngsters, of the Romanian politics might be very well as follows synthesized, by paraphrasing W. Whitman: "For youngsters, politics means to be respected and after you vote to be answered when ask. To be listened when you speak, to have a chance when you dare, to earn decent when you work hard."
By comparison, here is the text that belongs to URR (quote of an "Our Spirit"), text made public ever since July the 10th 2002 on the URR site www.urr.ro and in a central journal of the same date: "To us, politics means
So here is an identical phrase, taken as it is, plus a copied phrase with some changes of some words; the change does not make anything but to stress the fraud, though probably the intention was contraire.
What puzzles us is the fact that a party whose doctrine is stressing decisively on creativity is not capable of creating an own vision and is forced to turn to such practices.
Whoever is taking in serious the principle uttered by the PUR doctrine according to which "Creativity plus honor equals human value" can get to the conclusion - as a consequence of this incident - that the people are "forming" the political vision of PUR youngsters are lacking exactly the mentioned qualities.
