February 25th, 2004 Supporting the Moldova Republic Democracy
On February, the 29th the Union for the Reconstruction of Romania - URR will attend the National Conference of the Women Organization of the Christian Popular Party (PPCD) of Moldova Republic in Chisinau. Over 800 women members of the PPC will be attending this conference along with a delegation of the European Popular Party (PPE) lead by the vice-president of the European Popular Party, Ms. Lidia BIALEK.
Inviting URR to this event, as the only participating party from Romania, proves once more that URR is getting closer to the European Christian-democratic structures and also shows URR's permanent support of PPCD and this party's attempts for introducing the Christian-democracy in the Moldova Republic.
On this occasion URR expresses its concern for the recent events that took place in the Republic of Moldova, especially the banning of parliamentary immunity of four of the Christian Popular Party deputies, including the very president of the party, Mr. Iurie ROSCA. Consequently, URR is classifying these events as a major menace to the fragile democracy of the Republic of Moldova. By being present to the Christian Popular Party Conference - PPCD on 29-th of February the Union for the Reconstruction of Romania - URR is expressing once again its support for the fight of PPCD against the communist structures that are preventing the development of the Republic of Moldova.
